Free Windows local backup
Trezor Backup
A portable Windows app for immediate or scheduled local project backups. It copies changed files, skips unchanged files, keeps deleted source files in the backup until manual maintenance, and includes Unity-friendly exclusions.

What the first release does
Trezor is intentionally scoped to reliable local backups before cloud or network providers are added.
Local folder backups
Choose a source folder and a local backup destination. Trezor creates missing destination folders and writes through safe temp/replace operations.
Conservative safety
Unchanged files are skipped. Deleted source files stay in the backup until you explicitly remove them from Maintenance.
Scheduling
Run manually, daily, weekly, or when Trezor starts. Weekly schedules include a day selector and 24-hour local time.
Built for project folders
The workflow is tuned for active development folders, especially Unity projects that should not back up generated cache folders.
- Unity preset excludes root-level
Library,Temp,Obj,Build,Builds,Logs,UserSettings, andMemoryCaptures. .gitis intentionally kept, so local repository history can be backed up.- The source and backup folder pickers remember separate previous locations.
Safety checks
- Blocks source/destination nesting and dangerous cross-task overlap.
- Requires enough destination free space for changed data plus a 1 GiB reserve.
- Uses maintenance review instead of automatic deletion.
- Runs as the current user and stores data under
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Trezor.
